Stronger parents start here.

Injury prevention and exercise designed for the demands of raising kids.

Nobody prepares you for how hard parenting is on your body.

You lift your child 50+ times a day. You hold awkward positions for hours. You bend, twist, carry, and push through every day on broken sleep and no warm-up. And when something starts hurting—your wrists, your back, your shoulders, your neck—you push through that too, because there’s no one else to do it.

You wouldn’t start a physically demanding job without training. Parenthood shouldn’t be any different.

What Fit for Parenting Teaches You

  • How to use proper body mechanics during everyday parenting tasks—car seat transfers, crib lowerings, carrying, feeding, and everything in between. Set up your environment to make good movement easier.

  • Understand the injuries most common in new parents—wrist pain, shoulder strain, neck stiffness, back pain—and learn how to recognize, manage, and prevent them before they sideline you.

  • Turn the physical demands of parenting into exercise. Rucking with your baby. Squats during toy cleanup. Your child as resistance. Get stronger without adding a single minute to your schedule.

Hi, I’m Nick.

I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Hospital for Special Surgery, the #1 orthopedic hospital in the country. I’ve been a treating clinician for over 10 years and I have worked with everyone from kids to parents to professional athletes. I teach at Columbia University and Hunter College. I’ve presented at national conferences and been featured and referenced in multiple media outlets.

And in my first year as a dad, I injured both of my elbows picking up and carrying my baby.

If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone. And through clinical practice, I know that it does. The information parents need to protect their bodies doesn’t exist in one place. So I’m putting it there.
